Light at the end of the tunnel...

A little over two years ago we began this adoption process.  Honestly, I don't think we had any idea the amount of time, money, and emotional resouces that it would take to see the whole process through.  As of a few weeks ago, we received our official letter of acceptance from the Indian government stating that Saniya Ison was officially part of our family.  We are now waiting on one other document to be processed and then we get our travel dates to go and pick her up and finalize this whole...

 I experienced a strange confluence of feelings this week.  On July 23, I celebrated my second birthday.  That’s the day I should have died from ruptured intestines.  Emergency surgery, and the Great Physician, saved my life.  So all week I’ve been reflective on the gift of life. Why Adopt?

Why would anyone want to adopt?  What is the motivation?  Is the process of adoption just supposed to help alleviate only the physical needs of children?  

David Platt, Pastor of The Church at Brook Hills in Birmingham,AL explains it far better than I can here.

As I come in contact with more and more people everyday, I find that there is a common theme that connects all of us at our core.  Everybody has a story to tell.  All of us, no matter what position we find ourself in life, have a unique and compelling story that needs to be told and celebrated.
